Fannin County Museum of History
One Main Street, Bonham, Texas
The Fannin County Museum of History, established at the Old Depot in Bonham in 1987, needs your support to continue its mission to help preserve and display artifacts, papers, records and documents pertaining to the history of Fannin County. The Museum receives some support from the City of Bonham hotel/motel tax, but otherwise is supported by donations from the community.
Annual expenses include building and grounds maintenance, utilities, insurance, supplies and salary for a Museum Administrator.
A robust group of volunteers support the Museum with many volunteer hours each month. Recently the Museum acquired and restored a 1966 M-K-T caboose which graces the Museum grounds. The Museum has an active Facebook page and a website. The Museum makes its historic photograph and archives collection available online.
As the Courthouse renovation proceeds we expect that the Museum will continue to be a popular venue for those visiting Fannin County as well as residents. Many tours by school classes take place each year.
We invite you to support the Museum by joining the Friends. A membership form is below. The Museum is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax deductible.
